".......and unfortunately nearly all make money online blogs are crap, so he, Dave, decided to write his own. It's pretty spankin."

Oct 012010

Well, happy October to my reader. Just a wander through Dave’s brain today and some musings on the usual:

Last September the good Wife just informed me that we made a total of $500 on Amazon. That was a year after we started this total madness we now find ourselves calling a job. We had never really concentrated on Amazon as we had other projects going that stopped us from starving. But after coming across Tracey’s Making money online blog we kind of got inspired to really go for Amazon. By the end of that year we reached a kind of burnout and had been working flat out trying to get new sites up and also develop our year old sites to see if we could make money with Amazon.

All of this was before we used any tools at all. And by the end of the year we were somewhat amazed to reach a personal record of $8000 in a month on Amazon.

I have mentioned in the comments and in personal emails a few times that part of that was $2000 from a site that I began in October. So it is never too late to start.

Like, um NOW.

This year, with all the tools we use, not many for a lot of IM’ers, such as the amazing Build My Rank (in just a few weeks I have got a number of #1 spots using it) and the other doo dahs on my ever so amazing Tools To Succeed page (insert irony) I know for a fact that the $8000 a month on Amazon is going to seem like small fry. I know that because for September we have gone pastΒ  that and I am feeling a little wobbly in the belly area (just like the Wife). Shit, I am in trouble for that.

Love ya Baby.

And the secret to all this?

Is it uncovering some wild niche that gets a 100% conversion?

Nah, it is just the usual stuff. With conversions ranging from 4% to maybe 12% if we are very lucky it is down to one thing.

Content and backlinks.

I really do try to help you guys out with what I have learned, which is very limited actually. I think I have now progressed to “noobish” status in this weird online virtual life. I don’t claim to have any secret formulae and anyone that does is actually full of the proverbial BULL.

No, the answer lies in a few simple procedures that we would all do well to remember from time to time. And why we have broken all records so far this month as we approach Chrimbo is simple.

We spend at least 90% of our time, if not a lot more, getting backlinks.

It is that simple.

Getting number 1 or number 2 rankings makes such a difference to conversions and earnings that there really is no comparison. You may think something does not convert well but until you rank properly for it then you don’t really know.

This is just a short post to remind you that you probably need to stop reading sites like this and forums etc for more than a relaxing breaks worth of time each day and knuckle on down.

Man, we are burning out already from tippety tapping at the laptops all day, but a vino or 27 awaits at the end of the day and I do get to stare at my darlings face so it is not all bad. But for a lot of you this is the period of the year that you will find that you should be working by far the hardest that you have ever worked.

I really try to get it across here how simple this is. Get a decent amount of content online, get an image no further down than a few sentences in your sites with a nice call to action text and

You can chill in the new year.

Seriously, if you are not working as many hours as you possibly can (while still being sensible about it) at this time of year then you need a wake up call. You either want to do this as a little hobby to be able to buy a few burgers every month or you want to earn real money that is actually life changing.

It can be done. I told you that just over a year ago we were in debt and living on potatoes and lentils, and I was not joking. This year after working hard and sites aging we have more money than we have ever had in our life. In a year I am confident that we will have reached my earnings per month goal (you will have to dig through to find what that was), and I am pretty sure that this Christmas is going to be a record breaker for us. But there is no secret niche, just stuff people buy online. Just rank for things people buy and then do it again and again. No secrets.

Spend at least 90% of your work time getting backlinks however you can. Use what I recommend or do it manually, you do what you can either way. Last year we made that $8000 in a month with no tools at all. I simply submitted to article directories by hand over and over and over. Yes, the same ones! I was that naive, but I didn’t have the money for a tool or a network. All I used was the $8 backlink package on the tools to succeed page, and that is not as effective as it once was, although it will still give you good serps positions.

Whatever you do, get on with it.

I really like the community feel we have going on here with everyone chatting among themselves in the comments and I welcome you to carry on doing it. It is great to have a talk about how we go about this game. But make sure that you actually put what everyone talks about in to action.

If you spend 90% of your time getting links to your content you should make some great money this year, especially if you do product sales on Amazon. People buy all kinds of unrelated stuff and it is amazing how it all adds up. There is no secret to it, no wonder product or anything. Just rank for stuff that people buy.

And to help each other out let’s everyone that leaves a comment say what they want or are getting for Christmas. As long as it is not a niche that you are going to get involved in then it would really help out everyone else to get some ideas. Or not, I know when I think I have a good idea it sinks like a stone tied to a REALLY heavy anchor πŸ˜‰

Now that we have some money it is me first I guess. I didn’t get anything last year (honestly) but this year I may even move in to the modern world. Personally I think I am finally going to bite the bullet and get a games console. You may now argue about what is best as the last one I had was a ZX Spectrum with a wonky cable that you loaded games on to with a tape recorder. Ah, Farenheit 3000 where are you now?

Bottom line? Be it 1 single blog post or 20, rank them number 1 and earn the money. You don’t actually need lots of content to earn good money. If something seems to be doing well then just work on that. If it is 1 page or 1 site then so what. Work on your most promising sites for most of the time. Don’t spread yourself too thin. Forget the nonsense about having to have lots of sites etc. If a single site with a good few pages makes the most money then who is to say you can’t work on that and that alone?

UPDATE: I forgot to add a very good piece of advice that allows you to get a number 1 spot with less backlinks than normal. Sorry about that………………

  1. I have so badly wanted to buy a gaming console lately, but I realized if I get a new Xbox 360(mine broke) I would get noticeably less work done. Call of Duty and Halo are like crack. You seem to have the focus that you can handle it though.

Also, there is no way in hell someone who makes $8000 a month is “noobish”. You are well out of that territory. The fact of the matter is that this was never something that complicated to begin with. Making money online is simple-but not easy.

I felt pretty bad about spending all day copying my competitions Xrumer profile links manually and using scrapebox to find all of my competitors backlinks I could copy because I thought I could use the time better. Thanks for reminding me it wasn’t such a bad idea even though it felt somewhat meaningless. Now I’m going to go and update a few of my sites with bullshit!

Have a good one Dave, you’ve been a great inspiration.

@Josh, I think a console will have to be for evenings only, although I really have no idea what they are like. So, is Halo the best game and is the Xbox the business?

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Josh Reply:

I haven’t been a terribly serious gamer for years so I may be the wrong person to ask. However, the xbox is my favorite and it deffintely has more games on it than any other system.

Halo has been one of my favorite serieses since I got the first game when I was in middle school and I haven’t played much of the new one. Its a shooter so its hard to say if you will be into that or not.

If your really serious about it, I would buy a Xbox 360 (get one of new, smaller ones, with a big hard drive. The old ones have terrible overheating issues), and buy whatever games sound interesting to you. The system has been out for 5 years or something like that so you have access to a huge library of great games at half(or less) price.

Cheers, I will have to check all this out. I assume you can also “preview” games by going to the bay of pirates too.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Josh Reply:

You can on PC usually, but not on a console.

I’m not really sure what would work best for you, but these are some suggestions.

This is just the console with a big hard drive.

This is a console with 2 controllers, a game and a few other things

(if you aren’t going to play halo reach online then you might find it kind of short)

These are some of the older games that I thought had great single player. I think they all have sequels now but I haven’t played any of them.

Thanks for the comment Lando, but hey, come sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you want for Christmas. Didn’t you read the rules?

  3. Hi Big Dave, what I want for Christmas may seem like a clichΓ©, but it’s good health to my missus as we’ve just found out ‘we’re’ (lol) pregnant. Which means this hobby, even though it’s full time, better turn into a career pretty quick!

I hope Santa Claus brings you a console but bear in mind the games are scientifically designed to be addictive (I read a paper from Microsoft once) so it may be detrimental to your work. Saying that I do own a Wii and though its great fun, its not a ‘sit down and relax’ type of console as you have to be physically involved.
I’ve heard very good things about the Batman Arkham Asylum game and the graphics looked amazing.

I think I have a great list now to check out, thanks all.

Craig we recently bought Monopoly, great fun, and picked up Triv at a Car boot sale, which is great too. What I do actually want to do is learn how to play Go.

We bought it years ago, had one game, thought we had each won, had a massive argument, then realized we were both playing totally different rules that neither of us really understood at all !

@Dave, Ahh, yes, I’ve been meaning to get a hold of ‘Go’ for a couple of years now. The king of all strategy games, or so they say.

By the way, not sure if I made it clear or not, but I was talking about the Xbox 360 versions of Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit. They sound kind of pointless when you can just get the board games cheaply, but they really did add some cool new twists, especially with Monopoly!

  4. For Christmas, I would love a laptop, and an iPad for my mother, and Kindle for my father

Right now would like to know:

    1) I am total newb; would starting out with Blogger, InfoBarrel, Squidoo or Hubpages,
instead of own site, still be acceptable? or ill advised? Especially this close to Christmas.
(I have no to low $$$ for extras)

    2) Do you use Amazon only, or do you use Endless.com (another Amazon site) also?
    (I read that Endless.com pays 15% …compared to Amazon.com’s 4-8%.)

Thanks for another inspiring and educational post.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

I have used all of those services but just bear in mind they could be taken away from you at any time.

Hubs would be best for quicker rankings but just bear in mind the discussions about too much linking to them. But you can rank a new site in a few months. I would go for cheap hosting and buy a domain mixed in with Hubs, Lens and Infobarrel. Nice Christmas list there too.

We use Amazon and also a number of sites from CJ too. Good luck Dude, do the work and it pays off.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Mason Reply:

@HZ, This is just my opinion and Dave may completely disagree, but what I’ve found is that it doesn’t really matter if it’s your site, InfoBarrel, Squidoo, or Blogger. What matters is that you secure one of the top spots in Google and you do that with good keyword research, well written content, and lots of backlinks.

I’ve made good money submitting articles to ezine, buying a 2.00 .info domain name, and setting a 301 redirect to a cpa offer. It’s really not hard to make a few bucks. Doing the kind of numbers that Dave is doing is hard work, but you need to start somewhere and most importantly don’t get discouraged and don’t give up.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

You actually bring up a great point that many overlook when worrying about buying a site and ranking straight away.

Let’s say you do buy a domain today. Put some content on it and then work on ezines, hubs, Infobarrels etc. Get them all ranking on page 1 and funnel through some of the traffic while picking up direct sales as well. You get some nice authority backlinks to your site then as well as traffic.

The site, even if new, will begin to get traffic in its own right and you will have lost nothing. It is very easy to get a 20% plus CTR from an ezine, so yeah, great advice and hopefully inspiration to HZ.

Keep the tips coming, it is why we are all here, not just to listen to me ramble.

  5. heh, I had a Spectrum when I was a kid. I spent hours playing Manic Miner and Sabre Wulf & all those old games. I wouldn’t want a new console now, as I’d probably end up getting hooked & being even more of a slacker than I already am!

As for Xmas presents – I want money! I want to spend it on getting the house redecorated & getting new carpets, since ours date back to the 70s. Boring I know… An iPad would be nice too – my husband has got one & it’s kind of fun. Not something I’d want enough to fork out for myself though. Actually, there are a few other things I want, but if I told you I’d be giving away my own main niches, so I’ll have to keep quiet about those ; )

  6. Dave,

I already emailed you about what a shit disappointment it was to reach the top for my keyword and finding out it doesn’t have any traffic.

(how the fuck is a guy supposed to make any money at all if the main keyword doesn’t even have traffic?)

So now I want to rank the posts as high as possible.

Let’s say the site itself is about white sports socks and I have a post about the product ‘adidas double dry power full cotton sports socks’.

Then I’d like to rank it for that term.

But do you really suppose that there are that many people looking for that?

The fucking main keyword ain’t doing shit for me and now I’m supposed to get traffic from these non existant longtails?

This biz sucks. I’m gonna go punch a hole in the fucking wall.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

OK, let’s watch the language, there are youngsters who come here too.

There must be tons of variations on the main keyword with all different buying words. Go for ranking for cheap, best, discount, best price, for sale, buy, etc etc.

Don’t get hung up on the one keyword, I say this for anyone too. Have a big old arsenal of them. I would now write posts for all the buying keywords and see what converts, you may be surprised.

I don’t really think that keyword tools are worth a lot to be honest, I haven’t really used one for ages. I would rather just look at what the popular products are in the niche and rank for them.

Have you ranked for the top ten in the niche Blackthorne? That may be where the money is?

Stick with it, I know it gets frustrating as hell. I have wasted months on sites that make nothing. I just checked one I did this year, I sweated over it and it has made like a big fat zero.

Give it your best shot and work on other stuff at the same time.

And hey, what do you want for Christmas, not off me mind you. You know, from Santa.

  7. Hey Dave,

I am just starting out myself and with christmas so close I am focusing on getting Hubs to rank as my own sites probably wouldnt get there in time (i dont think?)

Anyway, i read the discussions on too much backlinking to hubs and was wondering how much is too much??

I was planning on doing about 50 links to each product i want via postrunner but now i am a bit worried about doing any at all! lol

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

    @Max K,

I think that will be fine. It is more about using automated stuff to send out too many in one go. Over a week or two I can’t see anyone arguing with that, heck even in a day.

I mean, you could get hundreds of links in a day naturally anyway. And welcome to the mayhem Max.

  8. Hi Dave, it’s Lorecee from the KWA forums. This blog is a gold mine of useful advice. Thanks for sharing it. I just bought a round of BP links through you and your Amazon link is going to get some exercise for the holiday season.

I’ve got all kinds of Mac gewgaws (Macbook Pro, iPod, iPhone, iPad) and need lots of accessories for them from Santa. I just bought a sharp little Italian made case for the laptop, and don’t forget that if you want to plug an external monitor into a Macbook, you need a pigtail that costs $30.

That’s what separates us from the apes–all primates use tools, but only humans can accessorize.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

A pigtail?? I am sure it is absolutely needed πŸ˜‰

Ooh, ooh, what did you buy? Hopefully a few expensive flat screens and a diamond encrusted Tiara.

  9. I have no problem writing about current events and things I know about or have experience with. I can do that all day much like you can.

However, writing about toasters, carpet cleaning machines, or rice cookers is nearly impossible for me. How in the world do you write articles about products? I just can’t do it because I don’t care.

BTW, I have an article on (SNIP: I am too busy to get a million more articles) you need to approve and I couldn’t use the tags because it wouldn’t let me. Please approve!

Okay, I guess I have to start telling stories for all my product articles. I can do that.

So your article directory was a bad idea? That’s interesting. I have 2 Postrunner sites that get about 5 articles a month each (because they are not in the General category) and I have not monetized them. But some of those general sites get tons of stuff a day and I was wondering how well they were doing with Adsense.

    -1 Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Don’t get me wrong it makes a little, but not enough for it to be worth much time. It has gone a lot quieter now that we put the captcha on, but mainly because people have to personally email me to ask to be allowed to post content. That makes it much easier to handle.

We were getting a ridiculous amount of crap spun stuff every day, I guess through automated software. What comes around goes around I guess πŸ˜‰

  10. Dave this is a great post. I’ve decided that I’m not putting up any more new sites. But really focus on two sites that have great potential to add value to the online community. As for everything else, I’m gonna backlink the heck out of them. And see what the results yield by the end of the year. Don’t have time to do any article marketing. But will mainly use backlink phillipians for now

I mean there are tons of stuff to buy… you have Golf balls, which can seem expensive ($40+ dollars a box for a good ball), expensive irons, new drivers, gloves, instructional dvd’s, golf clothes, shoes, golf glasses, hats, and the list goes on and on.

However it’s a super competitive industry and i’d need alot longer than 2 months to get anywhere with anything Golf related i’d assume.

I walked into the living room before we went to Colorado on vacation in June, and he was cutting some guys head off (on the game!) I traded it out for a PS2, and scolded my Husband-the PS2 has more kid friendly games!

Really popular niches in Amazon are health and home and garden. What I want for Xmas is my Father to fly out here. He will not come because it gets around -40 at that time πŸ™

I am curious if you can post a pic of your Amazon report-I am curious about it!
Also, when you posted on my blog I am not gonna buy any more sites. I have 26 that I need to get fully up and running that I need to get ranking #1-3 on the SE, plus I need to start back linking like crazy! I wish we had like 4-5 more months before Christmas!

Good Luck to everyone on making a ton this Holiday!

Buying gets serious in November so there is still time to rank, just start asap. I think that many sites is more than enough Kelly, I would pick the best ones and really work a lot on them.

No reports from me. I don’t know if it is allowed, I am too lazy, I don’t want to show how much we really earned and they can be faked so what is the point?

Let’s just say it was more than a dollar fifty πŸ˜‰

Hopefully everyone will see what you can make from the article and get inspired to really start with some serious backlinks now.

Okay, I guess you do not kiss and tell-worth a try though right? Less than 10 of those sites have not been completed yet-meaning no content and etc. A few of them are micro niche sites-do you have any of these? I have a big site that is poorly monetized put it is sitting in position #4-I am definitely gonna work on that one. I am just trying to decide on how to back link without having to write an article or a mini-post for every link!

I have learned a lot from your site and when I start to make good money-I am gonna buy you a game system, of course that could take 5 years, but ya never know!

Can I have some games too?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Kelly Reply:

    Haha-smartass of course you can!

  17. UPDATE: I forgot to add a very good piece of advice that allows you to get a number 1 spot with less backlinks than normal. Sorry about that………………

I missed it! Damn the cognac. What was the edit Dave?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

    That was the edit.

Intriguing huh? Will tell soon, once there is no chance of anyone taking any terms I need.

@Dave, You ready to divulge the secret now Dave?
BTW, Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for the blog and all the awesomeness.

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Have a great day, we don’t do it out here but I kind of wish we did.

The secret, now what was it.

    Just for you Dude.

Get in there first. We have had a lot of luck with writing about things before they are actually available. Keep your ear to the ground and if you think something is going to be big write about it first. There is no doubt that the earliest content about an item ranks better with fewer links.

See what is up and coming, see what is not even made yet, and when it is out you will be Kachinging all the way to the bank.

  18. BTW Dave,
check out http://www.uncrate.com if you still are looking for something to get yourself. There’s a version for ladies out there as well in case your lady needs a posh keyboard after having charred the letters off the old one with her lightning quick typing.

Nice site, is it yours ????

    Vote -1 Vote +1Kelly Reply:

If you look at that site they have been around for 5 years and are probably banking! I can wait that long. Plus, they have over 300k back links!

  19. Dave: Just discovered you (and your blog). I know very little about Int. Marketing but want to learn from the ground up. You are a person I would like to learn from. I do not have a website, and don’t know the lingo, so can you or someone here point me in the right direction? Maybe a coaching program, a book, one on one…? You may not offer this and if not, just let me know. Thanks for the great content.

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Yikes, I don’t know where to start. Actually I do. On the sidebar is a link to the Keyword Academy, it is free for the first month and they have a complete program with vids to totally show you the ropes.

start there, just don’t get too caught up on adsense which is more what they like to earn from. All the same rules apply to ranking for products for affiliate commissions as well.

Or someone may offer to guide you through from the beginning but I would go with the KA. Of course, not forgetting to get website hosting via my links on this site, so I get a commission, which is kind of the principle behind the whole thing.

Good luck on your journey Dude. Stay out of forums, don’t believe what anyone tells you and most importantly put in the work. 2 years ago I had no idea what a blog was so if I can do it anyone can.

Forgot to say, be careful in the Warrior Forum, there are a lot of people trying to flog you e-books and you don’t need them. Use the KA or head on over to Grizzly’s blog (on my blogroll bottom right) and read his site over a few days from start to finish, including comments. That is all you need to know, I promise you. Let me know what you think once you have done that.

    Good luck.

  20. Thank you. I will definitely do the Keyword Academy and will be happy to use your links for website hosting. Do you build your own websites or contract it out?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Do, it all myself. If you use wordpress, like this site is, then it is very easy. Just install and pick a theme.

The blogroll is the Gangstas keepin it real πŸ˜‰ But here is Grizz site. http://makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com/

Honestly, his site saved me doing the wrong stuff, I floundered for 6 months until I found his site.

  21. I don’t see the Blogroll.

  22. I remember Faranheit 3000! I don’t think I ever got very far, though, that game was bloody hard! I played so many Spectrum games as a kid that whenever I go to a keyboard my fingers naturally move to O-P-Q-A-Space!

For Chrimble I’d like a new laptop. Since mine died I’ve been sharing the girlfriend’s, which is less than ideal.

  23. Dave, did you ever play Manic Miner. That was the game when I was playing on the ZX Spectrum. It’s funny how those games seemed amazing though. Craig is right, although from memory it was Q-W-A-Z for the movements and as they got older they stopped working as well so you had to press harder and harder.

    Great fun!

My ideal Christmas present would be firstly to get something for the kids that they actually played with for more than 5 minutes, and secondly I think a weekend break with the wife. I think I’ve got to a stage in life where things matter less than experiences. Dunno, maybe its just me!

I am with you there Dude. We finally had a week away after more than 5 years and had an amazing time in Dubrovnik. But anywhere for a few days just to get away from it all is great.

Definitely something I want to do more of. We are very minimal with our stuff, I mean we still only have 15″ tv’s.

For the kids, why not get them a big cardboard box? They will probably enjoy it more than the games you get them anyway πŸ˜‰

    Vote -1 Vote +1Blackthorne Reply:

@Ben, I played Manic Miner on C64. The music drove me insane.

A comparible game is Blagger. I liked that one a little better.

  24. NICE, Dave!

$8000 and change – sweet, man.

    That’s all I have to add. Sweet x infinity x 10

I do have the BEST video game console you can possibly want, only you can’t find it anywhere. The games are all in 3-D, with a holo-projector, it’s….

    @JamestheJust on Elance,

Ooh, sounds cool. And although the earnings were well over that it is alright as we have just sorted out out tax registration (finally). So for the last 3 months we now get to pay way more then $8000 in tax anyway. Insert very very very sad face!

Needless to say I am not looking forward to the end of the year tax form. I need to move Monaco.

  25. Good advice Dave and a good update too. Thanks for the always valuable motivation. And to all those in the comments who have all the reasons in the world why you can’t possibly do the work that’s needed?

I’m sure your reasons are valid, BUT, I also know you haven’t yet gotten to an important crossroads … you aren’t hungry enough yet.

In spite of all the talk about global recession and unemployment, etc. life is still pretty darn good for some.

What do I want for Christmas, seriously? A few boxes of food to distribute to people who are really starving. You can mail me privately if you actually want to know if I’m for real. Merry Christmas. It’s already deep into the Christmas season here.

    @Dave Starr,

Life is very good for a lot of us I know. Now that is a touching Christmas wish Dave Starr, I know you are for real, I don’t doubt it at all.

I think regardless of the earnings we have made the one thing I am now most pleased about is that we now always have a way of feeding ourselves. If it crashed tomorrow we could be back up and running in no time with what the last 2 years have taught us.

  26. Dave, after you do a BP package, do you get backlinks to the profile links?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Yep. You get a report with the url, the Pr of the site and the login details etc. All very professional and as good as it gets for this type of service. My lates package was from sites between pr4 and 9. You can’t get better for the money.

    Vote -1 Vote +1DMace Reply:

@Dave, I am going to try BP next time.

I actually tried a different service; which did nothing for my rankings. Even worse is the fact that I have no idea if they actually did what they were supposed to since they do not send a report. I should have read the fine print better πŸ™‚

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

They do work amazingly well. There are also things based on xrumer like http://dripfeedblasts.com/ but I am too chicken for such numbers. The getting reported for spam risk is also very high. May be good for support stuff though.

  27. Dave, sorry, what I meant was, do you build backlinks to the profile links to get them indexed?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

Ah. Nope, they always seem to get indexed without my help. BP ping the links which seems to be enough.

  28. I did a run of 40 profile links through BP two weeks ago as a test. Only 3 profiles have been indexed so far but a few are coming online as the days pass. It certainly seems to take a few weeks or so before they begin to appear in the index. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

That does seem slow. Normally I have had good serps movement long before that. Is that checking the links in Google or just what shows up in YSE?

    Vote -1 Vote +1Max Reply:

No, through Google. The keyword I targeted has gone backwards by 2 spots as well.

I’ll give it a another 2 weeks before I past judgment.

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

A jump about is a good thing. Be more worrying if there was not a little google dance. An odd link or so regular will see it settle soon, and hopefully higher, let me know how it goes.

  29. Dave dave dave. I’m a bit late to this comment party, but another batch of inspiration sauce you have cooked us for here (again).

Just made my first $100 (in total, not a month), so I am starting to feel a bit like Lando was a few months ago (about half of that came from just one month), so the idea of even $500 a month is good…that would cover my tube season ticket ; )

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

If you can make a hundred then you can make a thousand and so on. Lando got it as soon as he realized just how much of your time should go to backlinks, the rest is then just a matter of waiting to rank.

    Vote -1 Vote +1Lando @ Docking Bay94 Reply:

Keep it up Billy. One thing I am trying to keep in mind is that a good day is about the amount of work I do not just about what I sell/earn on Amazon. The other day I made -$2 or something. Nothing shipped much and someone returned an expensive item!

We’ve just got to keep going, and going, and going…

Enough procrastination…I’m getting back to it. I’m sure you’ll be able to pay for that season ticket soon enough!

    Vote -1 Vote +1Billy Reply:

    @Lando @ Docking Bay94,

Thanks Lando – I usually get a sale or two a day (one of my products is $184.99, which delivers a nice slice), but I think I feel much like you do – I don’t benchmark my days in sales any more, because I know that what’s CONVERTING now doesn’t matter – it’s the work I DO now that will matter in 6 months time.

  30. Dave just wanted to chime in to give quick results of BP I purchased a week a go. I only bought the 40 bp package. One of my amazon sites that had gone into obscurity from the front page to I think page 5 is now back on page 1 at #4. This was a pretty good converting site so will be interesting to see results. Have not seen any noticeable change for my other keywords yet. I do know now from here on out I will do a 80 bp at leasr bare mininun for the sites I’m trying to rank and then focusing on building up my 2 authority sites

    Vote -1 Vote +1Dave Reply:

    @Dee @ Prayer Shawl,

Not bad results. Just make sure to continue with other link building too Dee so it is much more natural and not such a shock to the site.

But nice results and you should see movement for the other terms soon too.
